Pre-Arrival
Countdown to Columbia is your comprehensive guide before arriving on campus. You and your student will learn about housing, dining, health, and everything you need to know for a smooth transition to college life. This site will provide important information such as the Summer Webinar Series schedule, details about the New Student Orientation Program (NSOP), and your to-do list before you arrive.
Starting in July, our Summer Webinar Series will provide new families with information related to immunization, financial aid and billing, student advising, housing, dining, and more. Details on how to register for each session will be provided in our email communications starting in late spring, and webinars are posted to our YouTube channel shortly after they conclude.
Academics
The Berick Center for Student Advising (CSA) is the site to visit for any of your academic needs. CSA provides every Columbia College and Columbia Engineering student with an academic advisor (advising dean) who will help you plan out your courses and navigate your academic journey here at Columbia.
Student Life
It’s not just about the classroom. Students also get involved at Columbia through the Office of Undergraduate Student Life, which includes clubs, multicultural opportunities, student organizations, and Greek life.
Columbia Athletics and physical fitness are additional opportunities to compliment the student experience. Learn about club sports, gym access, and more on The Dodge Fitness Center’s website.
Religious Life and Undergraduate Global Engagement are just two more resources that help students fully integrate academics with extracurriculars important to them.
International Students & Scholars Office (ISSO) is the Columbia community’s resource for immigration-related needs and issues, including— but not limited to—visas, employment, travel, and tax-filing obligations.
Family Orientation and Family Days
Student and Family Support hosts Family Orientation during move-in weekend to help parents and students begin to navigate the new dynamic of college life. In October, we put on Family Days - an opportunity for families and friends to explore the campus community further and witness in person how students are experiencing college life at Columbia.
Health Services
Columbia Health is the foundation on which the well-being of students is built. Among other resources, Columbia Health provides information and support on disability services, primary care, immunization, support groups, and workshops.
Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS) supports the psychological and emotional well-being of the campus community by providing counseling, consultation, and crisis intervention. For same-day or continuing care, call 212 854-2878.

Academic Integrity
At Columbia, students are expected to participate in an academic community that honors intellectual work and respects its origins. Paying Your Bill
Information on tuition, fees, billing, and payments can be found on the Student Financial Services (SFS) site. Parents or other family members responsible for paying a student’s tuition must become an Authorized Payer. Please visit the SFS page for instructions on how to become an Authorized Payer.
Financial Aid
The Financial Aid and Educational Financing webpage offers resources and advice for all Columbia College and Columbia Engineering students addressing the needs associated with paying for your education.
Visiting Campus
The Visitors Center at Columbia provides maps of and directions to campus, help with accommodations, plus highlights and tours of our community here in Morningside Heights.

Public Safety
Columbia University takes the security and well-being of our community very seriously. Public Safety is committed to making our campus and its surrounding area as safe as possible. Learn about the services Public Safety provides like emergency notifications, safety escort programs, on-demand evening shuttles, crime prevention, and so much more.
The Lion Safe app is available to all Columbia affiliates and allows for quick access to all emergency services, shuttle schedules, and crime alerts, to name a few. The Friend Walk feature allows you to share your location with a friend in real-time.
